We get questions from readers from time to time asking about who Irmgard (the sole designer and manufacturer of this clothing) is and why she has created this unusual business. We have created this page to answer those questions.
Irmgard is a native of Berlin, Germany. As a child, living through the war, she greatly loved to play with her own dolls, a symbol of normalcy in a world which was turned upsidedown.
Being orphaned, she eventually emigrated to the United States in the 1950's. Here she met a gent, married and raised a family of her own. Now, being married for over 40 years, with the children out of the house, and now a proud grandmother, Irmgard retired from her full-time job. Hearkening back to the beautiful dolls and doll clothing she remembered in Germany, she began creating her own clothing designs for her grandchildren, and, at the childrens' request, for their dolls.
Finally, friends and family encouraged Irmgard to let others benefit from the designs, talent, and German workmanship that the clothing represents, combined with those special touches that only the love of a grandmother can add!
